The visit was part of the celebration of 30th anniversary of the Bank of Slovenia, and the Prime Minister received a gold medal issued on the occasion. The Bank of Slovenia was established on 25 June 1991 with the adoption of the Bank of Slovenia Act. Its first task was to establish an independent currency – the tolar.
