On behalf of Foreign Minister Dr Cerar, the State Secretary thanked the Ambassador for successful work and his contribution to the excellent relations between the two countries. He emphasised that the Netherlands is Slovenia's important economic partner and political ally. The countries share similar views on current European and international issues.

He went on to commend bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Slovenia and the Netherlands, particularly with regard to respect for the rule of law, human rights and the circular economy. He also stressed the important role of the Netherlands in the development of Slovenia’s relations with the Benelux countries, and expressed his wish for even closer cooperation in all areas of common interest.
