Slovenian President signs decree on appointment of Ambassador – Head of Permanent Representation of Slovenia to Council of Europe in Strasbourg

On 12 July, the President of the Republic of Slovenia signed a decree on the appointment of Andrej Slapničar as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia – Head of the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Slovenia to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
Andrej Slapničar has been employed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1995, and currently serves as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to the French Republic, to the Principality of Monaco and the Kingdom of Morocco, resident in Paris, and to UNESCO. During his career, he has also served as Head of the Security Policy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Slovenia to NATO in Brussels, Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Slovenia to the OSCE in Vienna and Head of the ESDP, Security and Disarmament Section at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
