Senator Rojc presented the current political situation in Italy, following the formation of a new government in early September. She expressed satisfaction with the attention that the new Italian government has dedicated to the Slovenian national community, including today’s session of the permanent institutional roundtable for the Slovenian minority at the Italian Ministry of the Interior. She informed her interlocutor about efforts to include provisions for effective and systemic representation of the Slovenian national community in the Italian Parliament in the new electoral legislation to be drafted in the coming months.

Minister Cerar reassured his guest of Slovenia’s continued support for the Slovenian national community in their justified endeavours to achieve systemic regulation for the minority’s representation in the Italian Parliament. He promised to address these issues in the political dialogue with representatives of neighbouring Italy.
