Meeting of Slovenian and Serbian Governments in Novi Sad

"Slovenia wants to be an active partner in Serbia's path to the European Union. For Slovenia, Serbia is an extremely important economic partner in the region. We want to help it tackle the greatest challenges of rural development by offering our knowledge and examples of good practices," said the Prime Minister of the of the Republic of Slovenia, Marjan Šarec, at today's press conference following the meeting of the Governments of the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Serbia in Novi Sad.

He and his host, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić, agreed that the cooperation between the two countries is good, diverse, dynamic and established in nearly all areas, and that it should continue in the future, at both the political and technical levels.

On the margins of the meeting, bilateral meetings at the ministerial level were held and the Protocol between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on the cooperation in ensuring internal security in the police and the Memorandum of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia on technical cooperation in agriculture and rural development were signed.
