Political consultations between State Secretary Marn and Hungarian Minister of State for EU Affairs Steiner

State Secretary Matej Marn held political consultations on current EU issues with the Hungarian Minister of State for EU Affairs, Attila Steiner, in Budapest today.
The two officials exchanged views on the course of negotiations on the Multiannual Financial Framework for 2021-2027, the rule of law in the EU, and the European Green Deal as well as issues related to climate change, migration and mobility. They expressed the hope that an agreement on enhancing the enlargement process with the Western Balkans will be reached on the basis of the European Commission's recent proposal on the new enlargement methodology.
State Secretary Marn also gave an overview of preparations for Slovenia’s Presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of 2021.
