Flowers laid on Pope John Paul II’s tomb

Today marks the centenary of the birth of Karol Józef Wojtyła in Poland, later Pope St. John Paul II. He entered history as a remarkable personality and leader, staunchly supporting freedom, justice and peace.
St. John Paul II supported wholeheartedly Slovenia’s independence process since its beginning and significantly contributed to get Europe breathe with both lungs. Later he paid two visits to Slovenia.
In memory of the centenary of the birth of St. John Paul II, the representatives of the Slovene Embassy laid flowers on his tomb in St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican.
