Minister Dr Logar’s telephone conversation with Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi

During a telephone conversation today, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Anže Logar and Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation and the Middle East Peace Process.

Minister Logar congratulated Minister Ashkenazi on his appointment to office and informed him of the interest of the Slovenian Government in enhancing Slovenian-Israeli relations.

The ministers advocated the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in various areas, including the economy, science, IT, education, and logistics, especially in connection with the Port of Koper, and also in tourism, as soon as the situation permits. They went on to exchange information on how the health crisis might best be tackled in both countries. 

The pair also touched on foreign policy issues, in particular the Middle East Peace Process, with Minister Logar stressing the importance of dialogue leading to a two-state solution.
