1653 rapid tests carried out yesterday, 30 of which positive
A total of 7,416 PCR and rapid tests were carried out yesterday. There were 1,504 confirmed cases, the share was 20.28 percent. 1,261 patients were hospitalised, 10 fewer than on Sunday. 207 patients were treated in intensive care units. 25 persons died in hospitals, 1 in a nursing hospital, 13 in retirement homes, a total of 39 deaths.
219 retirement home residents and 42 employees were confirmed as recovered yesterday. 176 new residents tested positive; there are a total of 1,909 positive residents. 35 new employees were tested positive, bringing the total count to 787 positive employees.
There are a total of 301 positive residents in 5 special care homes, 10 more yesterday, and 192 employees, 5 more yesterday.
The highest increase, by more than 10 residents, was recorded in the following care homes: DSO Sežana (53), DEOS Trnovo (22), DSO Bežigrad (11), DSO Danica Vogrinec Maribor (13), and DSO Ribnica (10).
Hojs spoke about the decision of the government to extend the restriction of movement between 21.00 and 6.00 during the holidays, on Christmas Eve, on Christmas Day, on New Year’s Eve, and on New Year’s Day. The restriction on movement will be relaxed within all statistical regions from 12.00 on 24 December until 20.00 on 25 December, and from 12.00 on 31 December until 20.00 on 1 January. Anyone who wishes to make a visit of a personal nature may cross the municipal borders without restriction, without an installed application and without indicating any other reasons.
State secretary Zajc said that some businesses which are necessary to ensure the basic needs of society will be open from 24 December up to and including 4 January:
- food stores, including those selling agricultural products at farms, selling clothes and footwear in these stores is not allowed,
- pharmacies and stores selling medical and orthopaedic accessories,
- farm shops,
- service stations,
- financial services,
- post offices,
- delivery services,
- chimney sweeping services,
- individual non-medical advisory and therapeutic services, such as psychotherapy,
- personal takeover of goods or food, except alcohol and alcoholic beverages, between 6.00 and 21.00,
- and other urgent services for ensuring health and safety.
The sale of pyrotechnic articles is forbidden.
It is important to ensure minimal contact in the sale of goods and services to consumers (i), regular ventilation or appropriate ventilation of rooms (ii), and disinfecting hands before each entry and exit from premises (iii).
