Earthquake in the Vicinity of Zagreb, 28.12.2020 at 6:28, without the Impact on the Krško NPP
Today's earthquake, which was around half past six in the vicinity of Zagreb, was also detected in the Krško NPP, but it did not have any impact on its operation.
The Environmental Agency of the Republic of Slovenia reported that today on 28 December 2020, at 6.28 am, the national network of seismic observatories recorded a strong earthquake 150 km south-east of Ljubljana. According to preliminary data from the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), the quake had a magnitude of 5.1, and the epicenter was 50 km southeast of Zagreb. The earthquake was also felt in Slovenia.
The earthquake in the location of the Krško NPP was felt by the operations personnel, but the quake values were below the threshold that it would require any action by the plant personnel. The power plant operates normally without any disturbances.
