On Twitter, Prime Minister Janez Janša announced that the Government will “exempt the operational part of the police from the uniform salary system and make the regulation of relations fairer.”

As the Prime Minister stated at the same time, the problem of police salaries is not their public or non-public nature but “the relation between many (not all) who are tucked away in (overcrowded) offices, receiving all imaginable allowances, and police officers and criminal investigators working in difficult conditions and risking their own health for the safety of all.”
