The Slovenian Tourist Board receives an award for its promotional video, Time to #stayhome
The Slovenian Tourist Board won the prize in a competition between 18 promotional videos submitted by twelve participating European national tourist boards in the categories of social responsibility and the value of tourism in connection with COVID-19 and promotional videos of destinations.
With the video, which was first released in April 2020, foreign followers of the Slovenian Tourist Board’s social networks were invited to dream about Slovenia, be inspired by it and plan their visit in the future, while for the moment being advised to stay home. The video, made at the time of the spring wave of the epidemic in 2020, features footage made for the Slovenian Green video, which showcased Slovenia as a green destination with an emphasis on sustainability messages.
"I am pleased that the international expert jury recognised the sincere message of the video, Time to #stayhome, in the tough competition of European national tourist boards. The video was made in a period of uncertainty during the first wave of the epidemic last spring and is based on emotions and hope for a better future," commented mag. Maja Pak, Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board.
"With positive communication and a thoughtful story, the video that reflects the values of the "I feel Slovenia" brand invites foreign followers to dream about Slovenia and plan their visit in the near future. Such awards and recognitions enhance Slovenia’s visibility as a green and sustainability-oriented boutique destination and will have a significant effect on obtaining tourist trust during the recovery period of the tourism sector," added Pak.
After its official release on the Feel Slovenia social media channels, the video reached over 300,000 web users in just a few days. Luka Dončić, the NBA star and Slovenian tourism ambassador, also shared the video with his fans on his social networks.
