The Reflection Forum is a platform for open and informal discussion between senior officials from the two regions and with experts on specific topics aimed at taking stock of, and discussing, advances and challenges in the bi-regional relations and formulating recommendations for future courses of action.

The event was dedicated to the contributions of the bi-regional strategic partnership to shaping a greener recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. In his opening address, State Secretary Raščan stressed that our health, our environment and our economies are intertwined, and advocated for a systemic transition to a circular economy. Slovenia’s Recovery and Resilience Plan foresees changes in the value chains supporting this orientation. He went on to explain that efforts for sustainable growth must be global to lead to positive results, and this is why the EU highly values the partnership between both regions, which has developed organically, stemming from important historical, cultural, political, economic and people-to-people ties.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia has been holding the LAC Days international conference since 2018 with a view to strengthening bilateral relations with the region.
