Minister Logar hosts Foreign Minister of Andorra

Ministers Logar and Ubach Font agreed that Slovenia and Andorra entertain friendly relations. The two countries share similar views on a number of European and global issues, such as the importance of the rule of law, environmental and climate policy, human rights, citizens’ security, effective multilateralism, etc. They agreed to reinforce bilateral cooperation, particularly on the economy, agriculture, tourism, and artificial intelligence. The counterparts confirmed excellent cooperation within multilateral forums and advocated the exchange of good practices in various areas.
During the talks, Minister Logar and Minister Ubach Font focused on the priorities of the Slovenian EU Council Presidency, sharing the view that Europe should strive to become more resilient to various crises. They also discussed Andorra's efforts to join the EU, with Minister Logar reiterating Slovenia's support for Andorra’s EU accession and advocating progress in negotiations in order to conclude the treaty of accession at the earliest possible opportunity.
Since both countries attach great importance to the development of artificial intelligence and cyber security, the ministers endorsed constructive cooperation in the fields of innovation, research and artificial intelligence. Minister Ubach Font also met with representatives of the International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI), which operates in Slovenia under the auspices of UNESCO. Andorra has responded positively to the invitation to cooperate with IRCAI. Representatives of Andorra’s agency for technology and innovation – Actua Tech Foundation – also joined the meeting through videoconference.
Minister Ubach Font also met with Speaker of the National Assembly Igor Zorčič and President of the National Council Alojz Kovšca.
