Wreath-laying ceremony on the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day

On the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, a memorial wreath was laid on behalf of Prime Minister Janez Janša at the Jewish cemetery in Ljubljana, which is located at the Ljubljana Žale Cemetery. The wreath-laying ceremony took place in the presence of the Guard of Honour of the Slovenian Armed Forces.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is commemorated on 27 January, was declared by the UN General Assembly at its session on 1st November 2005.
Slovenia has been commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day since 2008, when the Slovenian Government declared 27 January National Holocaust Remembrance Day.
