Defence minister signs the Memorandum of Understanding to the Boxer Programme in Munich in the framework of OCCAR
Minister Tonin has stressed that by signing the memorandum, we have finally come to the point where we should have been 15 years ago. “Slovenia will receive top vehicles that will be used for national and collective defence in the scope of NATO”, said the minister.
The Ministry of Defence plans to purchase 45 Boxer vehicles with a 30 mm cannon, for which they received an offer from OCCAR which also includes logistics support, spare parts, special tools and test equipment, system integration, tests, training, documentation, development, and project management. The contract is estimated at EUR 281,500,000 excluding VAT and is divided into:
- 45 BKV 8x8 (vehicles with an installed armament station and equipment): EUR 238,778,200 excluding VAT;
- the basic logistics package (documentation, training, spare parts package, main tools, and test equipment): EUR 23,474,560 excluding VAT;
- development and project management costs: EUR 19,247,240 excluding VAT.
