The Ministry of Culture is flying the rainbow Pride flag during the month of June as a sign of its support for the LGBTQI+ community. The minister Dr Asta Vrečko took part in Ljubljana’s pride parade on 11 June 2022.

In the Pride Month we celebrate diversity and promote equality for the LGBTQI+ community all over the world, in memory of the Stonewall uprising, the series of spontaneous protests in response to a police raid on the Stonewall Inn in New York in June 1969.

The Stonewall uprising was a landmark in the struggle to organise and the fight for the rights of the LGBTQI+ community.
