As a member of ECOSOC in the 2023–2025 period, Slovenia will strive for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development and contribute to finding solutions to global challenges. ECOSOC membership will also provide an opportunity to deepen cooperation in this field with other member states.

With 54 members, ECOSOC is one of the main UN bodies addressing the economic, social and environmental aspects of sustainable development. Over 1,600 NGOs hold a consultative status to participate in the work of this body. ECOSOC acts as a link between various UN bodies: regional economic and social committees and functional committees, as well as specialised agencies, programmes and funds dedicated to the implementation of development commitments.
