They focused on the enlargement perspective of the region and its integration into the EU. In this regard, the June session of the European Council represents an important breakthrough, as the European leaders highlighted EU enlargement as a geostrategic concept. The EU will not be ultimately free, complete and at peace with itself until it integrates the Western Balkan countries. The Western Balkans is our front yard, which must become part of the EU as soon as possible.
