The project to renovate the Slovenian National Theatre Drama Ljubljana is a project of the entire Government

Prime Minister Rober Golob visited the Slovenian National Theatre (SNG) Drama Ljubljana in the company of the Minister of Culture, Asta Vrečko. They discussed the building renovation project and the activities needed to implement it with the theatre's director, Vesna Jurca Tadel.

Prime Minister Robert Golob stressed the importance of SNG Drama Ljubljana for the Slovenian nation and expressed his regret at the extremely poor state of the theatre. He pointed out that the Government would bring SNG Drama Ljubljana to the level befitting such a cultural institution by its 115th anniversary. Golob said that the Government is about to adopt the 2022 and 2023 supplementary budgets and will include the project of the SNG Drama Ljubljana renovation in all relevant documents so the investment can start immediately. “The Drama renovation project is, namely, not just a project of one ministry, it is a development project of the entire Government,” he concluded.

The Minister of Culture added: “I am therefore very pleased that the Prime Minister and our Government also understand the importance of culture and the importance of our central cultural institutions, and that this will not stop at words, but that we will start taking concrete action as soon as next month so that Drama is restored as soon as possible.”
