Bilateral Meeting between Prime Minster Robert Golob and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković

Prime Minister Robert Golob met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, on the margins of the Bled Strategic Forum. This was their first bilateral meeting.

Prime Minister Golob declared the Republic of Slovenia’s support for Croatia’s membership in the Eurozone and its admission to the Schengen area. He recalled the importance of the principle of having open borders within the Schengen area and expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation between Slovenia and Croatia on solidarity measures to ensure the security of gas supply. After Italy, Croatia would be the second country to conclude the agreement with Slovenia. Both Prime Ministers exchanged views on the energy crisis and cooperation to tackle it.

Prime Minister Golob thanked Croatia for its assistance in the recent wildfires. Mr Golob and Mr Plenković undertook to strengthen cooperation in this area in the future.
