State Secretary Štucin at the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Slovenia and Croatia

State Secretary Marko Štucin met with State Secretary at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Andreja Metelko Zgombić, in Zagreb. They discussed opportunities for strengthening and further deepening bilateral cooperation and topical issues of the EU.

State Secretary Štucin also attended the reception organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Croatia to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries. In his address, he underscored the importance of good neighbourly relations that Slovenians and Croats have built through centuries of coexistence. He added that in our mutual relations, not all answers acceptable to both sides have yet been found. The state secretary is confident that new opportunities for enhancing cooperation will open up with Croatia joining the eurozone and the Schengen area.

The reception was also attended by representatives of Croatian institutions, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of the economy and culture in Croatia. State Secretary Štucin and State Secretary Metelko Zgombić attended the event as guests of honour. The reception was followed by a concert by the RTV Slovenia Big Band featuring Slovenian and Croatian soloists.
