Another Slovenian Home closes its doors forever in Euclid, Ohio
Images from today's last event, dancing to the sounds of the Eddy Rodick Orchestra, organized by the Cleveland- style Polka Hall of Fame and Museum in the now already sold Slovenian Society Home in Euclid/Recher Hall, which will close its doors on October 24.
Since 1949, Recher Hall has represented the center of the local Slovenian community and cultural events, and through these ties with the former homeland.
Declining membership, high maintenance costs and necessary but prohibitive roof repairs contributed to the decision by shareholders and members to close and sell the Home.
