Starting from December 9, 2022 the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia Beijing has worked in collaboration with the Inside-Out Art Museum to organize the “Beijing Conversations” series.

We invited twenty distinguished theorists, philosophers, artists, architects, curators, museum directors and historians from Slovenia and China to share their recent academic or artistic practices and engage in one-on-one in-depth conversations.

Each invited speaker will present the issues and discoveries they have made in their respective academic or artistic careers from specific cultural and social contexts and will connect and debate with each other in sharing ideas and art through these dialogues.

On December 9 the two distinctive speakers opened this series of significant conversations: Professor Alenka Zupančič of The Philosophical institute of the Scientific Research center of the Slovenian Academy of Science and Arts, and Professor Zhao Jinghua of Beijing International Studies University Institute.

 In this first “academic meeting” between the two scholars Professor Zupančič delivered a keynote lecture entitled “On Conspiracy Theory” while Professor Zhao Jinghua commented on Professor Zupančič’s keynote lecture and engaged in conversation with her.
