The Government Communications Office has already prepared promotional highlights of the media content for journalists in Planica - presentation of the I Feel Slovenia (IFS) brand, sports infrastructure and investment in sport, interviews with Slovenian athletes, presentations of cultural heritage, Slovenia's natural beauty, cuisine, etc. One of the most visible events will undoubtedly be the participation of Tina Maze, IFS Ambassador, at the Sport Conference on 22 February 2023.

With more than 40 world records, Planica has become a magnet for visitors from all over the world. From a small town and valley, Planica has become a true global sensation and has firmly established itself on the sports map of the biggest and best organisers of such sporting events.  For the first time in history, two ski jumping legends jumped over 100 and 200 metres in Planica. The FIS World Ski Jumping Championships Planica 2023 is a nationwide project and the biggest sporting event in Slovenia's history, in close cooperation with Beljak and Trbiž.

Uroš Zupan, Director of the Slovenian Ski Association: »We are expecting 250,000 visitors, 2,700 journalists from 70 countries, 2,500 athletes will take part, and 1,800 volunteers will be on hand to help. 130 TV cameras will be filming the coverage and 62 medals will be awarded in three sports disciplines over the 12 days of competition.«

Aleksander Geržina, Slovenian Ambassador to Austria: »The Austrian state of Salzburg is at the same time a sporting, tourist and economic centre. Salzburg is an important city for Slovenia, both as a sporting and tourism hub, and as an important location for many ski centres, world-famous athletes and companies, which are an important partner for the Slovenian economy. Salzburg is therefore the right destination to promote Planica, Kranjska Gora and Slovenia and, of course, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.«

As part of the pre-holiday reception, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2023 in Planica were promoted on 15 December 2022 in Salzburg. The event was organised by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Austria, Aleksander Geržina, and the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Slovenia in Salzburg, Anton Santner.
