EU Economic governance framework reform – finding consensus to ensure sustainability and growth
The event will enable us to further discuss the future of the EU economic governance framework that has been ongoing for almost three years despite interruptions caused by the COVID-19 epidemic which shed additional light to the open issues. The aim of the reform of the Stability and Growth Pact is to simplify the framework and highlighting the medium-term aspect of fiscal policy.
The event will be opened by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Robert Golob, and the European Commissioner for economy, Mr Paolo Gentiloni. The event will be moderated by Mr Mitja Gaspari, former Minister of Finance and former Governor of the Bank of Slovenia.
The event will take place on 9 March 2023 at 10.00 at Congress Centre Brdo.
Among participating speakers who will join the Slovenian Minister of Finance Klemen Boštjančič are Mr Paolo Gentiloni, Commissioner for Economy, European Commission, Mr Paschal Donohoe, President of the Eurogroup, Mr Fernando Medina, Minister of Finance of Portugal, Ms Johanna Lybeck Lilja, State Secretary at the Minister of Finance of Sweden and Mr Pierre Gramegna, Managing Director, European Stability Mechanism.
The event will take place in a hybrid format, therefore you can participate at the event live at Brdo or via Zoom app. Please find the Zoom invite link below. It will be also possible to listen to the event via live streaming at Facebook page of the Slovenian Ministry of Finance.
Simultaneous interpretation in English and Slovenian will be organised.
In the end, participants will have the opportunity to take an active part in the debate.
