Beijing Conversations 3: "Asking 'What is contemporary Art Again?'"
On 12 March 2023 the conversation between the Slovenian curator and director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, Zdenka Badovinac, and the director of the Inside-out Museum in Beijing, Carol Yinghua Lu, took place online. The event was co-organized by the Embassy of Slovenia in Beijing and the Inside-out Art Museum in Beijing.

The conversation between Zdenka Badovinac and Carol Yinghua Lu, the third in the series of "Beijing Conversations", which began on December 9 last year, and was watched by 883 viewers on Chinese online platforms.
In the conversation, the interlocutors discussed the question of relevance and historicization or universalization of the term "contemporary art" in relation to contemporary artistic trends, which was relevant in the first decade of the 21st century, and then the question of the common socialist past and artistic institutional practices, in relation to the Western view and to the differences between Western and Eastern art narratives.
