Minister Fajon receives South Korean Foreign Minister’s Special Envoy for EXPO 2030
Minister Fajon underlined that Slovenia and Korea share several values, such as democracy and the rule of law, and that a number of activities aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation are currently underway. She went on to mention Slovenia's interest in strengthening cooperation in the automotive industry, stressing that Slovenia is open to foreign direct high-tech investments. "We would like to boost the political and economic cooperation between Slovenia and Korea, which is also reflected in the opening of the Slovenian Embassy in Seoul, in the growth in trade between our two countries, in the importance and positioning of the Port of Koper, and in the interest of the Slovenian automotive industry in doing business with Korean partners," the Minister said. Minister Fajon also accepted the invitation of the Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs to pay a visit to Korea, possibly accompanied by a business delegation.
Special Envoy Ho Sung Song briefed Minister Fajon on Korea's bid to host World Expo 2023 in the port of Busan. He explained that Busan has become a primary logistics hub and has a vast experience in safely hosting international events.
They later discussed the cooperation within international organisations, Korea's support for the work of the ITF Enhancing Human Security and tourism.
