The Prime Minister as the Guest of Honour at the Gala Celebration of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering
In his address, he emphasised the importance of electrical engineering for co-creating the future, as we can no longer imagine life without electricity and electrical devices. Electrical engineering is one of the foundations of most modern technologies and is indispensable in times of rapid technological progress. Dr Golob also pointed out that there have never been so many opportunities, including financial ones, for the boldest ambitions of electrical engineers to come to fruition. He urged them to make rapid and active use of the available resources for innovation: “Make the most of them as soon as possible and do not wait. Now is your chance.”
The Prime Minister also thanked his thesis supervisor at his alma mater, the now retired Professor Dr Ferdinand Gubina, for his outstanding contribution to electrical engineering and expressed his appreciation for Dr Gubina’s work.
