Prime Minister at the Economic and Social Council session: Social dialogue is our commitment
As the Prime Minister pointed out after the session, the social partners agreed that social dialogue is one of the cornerstones for achieving a more prosperous society: "Social dialogue is not our choice, it is our commitment." They also agreed to extend it to the legislative process in the future for major laws.
The Prime Minister underlined that the session had been constructive and useful: "Social dialogue is extremely important, and it is a living process. The Government is sometimes forced to make certain moves due to objective circumstances," such as the urgent timetables for the adoption of certain laws, for example those linked to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. "We have committed to trying to implement best practices in all areas," said Prime Minister Golob, adding that at the next session they will discuss important, selected laws where the harmonisation process may be delayed late into the legislative process. "With one aim, to arrive at better legislative solutions. I am confident that the work over the next 12 months will be effective and that the solutions will ultimately be better for the people," the Prime Minister concluded.
