President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen pays working visit to Slovenia

Prime Minister Robert Golob hosted the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who paid a working visit to Slovenia to show support and solidarity with all those affected by the floods, and to present the possibilities of EU support for reconstruction and recovery. During her tour of the devastation in Črna na Koroškem, she also met Tina Maze, the I feel Slovenia brand ambassador.

Following her talks with the Prime Minister at Brdo pri Kranju, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, accompanied by the European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič, visited some of the critical areas. 

She visited the flood-hit town of Črna na Koroškem. Tina Maze, our all-time best skier and I Feel Slovenia brand ambassador, is from Črna na Koroškem and she joined the locals in rebuilding the town and helped as best she could.

The President of the European Commission praised the outstanding response on the ground and from the Government. The European Commission will provide Slovenia with maximum support. In addition to the support under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, the Commission will make accessible EUR 400 million from the EU Solidarity Fund to Slovenia in 2023 and 2024, of which EUR 100 million will be disbursed this year.
