61st AGRA International Fair of Agriculture and Food
Alongside commercial exhibitors, AGRA 2023 is co-designed by the most prominent governmental, chamber and professional institutions, led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia. The Community of Nature Parks of Slovenia will be presented under the aegis of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning. For the first time, the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport will also participate in AGRA. Other participating organisations will be the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry of Slovenia, the Cooperative Union of Slovenia, CCIS – Chamber of Agricultural and Food Enterprises, the Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association and the Slovenia Forest Service.
The fair will focus on the International Year of Millet, young people in agriculture, innovation and digitalisation in agriculture of the future, climate change and water resources, organic farming, food from our neighbourhood, food security, promotion of rural areas, biodiversity, Slovenia’s forest and wood wealth, food and energy self-sufficiency, and regenerative agriculture.
With its broad topic range, AGRA is indispensable for the development of Slovenian agriculture, food production and rural areas, bringing innovations, sustainable guidelines and excellent practices, as well as international business links, and introducing experts to new knowledge. It presents the best traditions, innovations and excellence in culinary and wine products to consumers who want safe and quality food. The fair is accompanied by several expert panels, lectures and roundtables on topical issues. It rewards visitors with a wide range of interesting presentations, unforgettable experiences, good value shopping and excellent cuisine.
This year, the partner country for the fair will be India, which boasts an extremely diverse and thriving agricultural sector. Group exhibition premises will be shared by Bulgaria, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Hungary, Kosovo, Austrian Styria, Ukraine and Senegal.
