Government sets up Call Centre for Reconstruction after the 2023 floods
The Government adopted a decision to set up a call centre for reconstruction after the 2023 floods (the call centre) on the telephone number 114. The call centre will operate from 8:00 to 16:00 every working day and from 8:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays as of 6 September 2023. If circumstances change, the call centre operating hours may be adjusted accordingly.
The call centre, which will be led by Andrej Šter from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, aims to provide centralised up-to-date, reliable and comprehensive information on the recovery from the floods that impacted almost two-thirds of Slovenia in August 2023, regardless of which line ministry is primarily responsible for providing the information.
It will serve both to inform and to raise the awareness of residents in the affected areas and, more importantly, to help them deal with specific situations. The feedback received by the call centre advisors will provide a basis for the decision-makers regarding additional measures to further improve the effectiveness of on-site assistance.
It will be staffed by a team of employees from the ministries and government offices who are committed to helping flood victims. The funding for the operation of the call centre will be provided by the ministries and government offices in their financial plans.
