12th Slovenian Economic Diplomacy Day on mitigating natural disasters
Minister Fajon also highlighted the further strengthening of the diplomatic and consular network based on the expressed interests of the Slovenian economy and the potentials unlocked by Slovenia's membership of the UN Security Council in the coming two years.
The State Secretary for Internationalisation, Entrepreneurship, Development Resources and Tourism, Matevž Frangež, also gave an address.
Director-General of the Directorate for Economic and Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Dr Slobodan Šešum, presented the activities of the Directorate and its staff, and gave illustrative examples of support that economic diplomacy provides through its services to companies entering foreign markets.
The panellists on the discussion on breakthrough solutions of Slovenian companies for forecasting natural disasters and preventing negative consequences of climate change, moderated by Dr Šešum, were: Nina Meglič, Strategic Research and Innovation Partnership (SRIP) on Circular Economy, Andreja Lampe, ICT horizontal network, Aleš Pevc, Technology Park Ljubljana, Mateja Forštnarič, Chief Executive Officer at Aerosol d.o.o., and Jure Tomc, Partner of the company InnTe.
In addition to companies and visitors to the International Trade Fair in Celje, this year’s annual Economic Diplomacy Day was attended by around 50 representatives of embassies from 34 countries accredited in Slovenia.
The event concluded with discussions between companies and representatives of economic diplomacy on their future activities in foreign markets.
