Training for government PR officers in London
Twelve representatives of the Slovenian Government's public relations services, led by the Director of the Government Communication Office, Petra Bezjak Cirman, attended a two-day training course in London organised by the UK Government Communication Service (GCS).
The UK Government Communication Service gave us an overview of how their service, which has some 7,000 employees, is organised and what its responsibilities and tasks are. Particular emphasis was placed on the presentation of good practices and the exchange of experiences in the areas of strategic communication, crisis communication, social media presence, campaign development and management, and the promotion of the UK’s GREAT brand. The fight against disinformation was also a major focus of attention. We agreed to continue such exchanges in the future, and invited our hosts to visit Slovenia.
