The main topic of the meeting was Slovenia’s reconstruction after the August floods and cooperation between Slovenia and the European Commission in this area. State Secretary Mally informed the Commissioner about the consequences of the devastating disaster, especially in the areas of the environment and aquaculture, and Slovenia’s efforts in the reconstruction works. He thanked the European Commission for its recent constructive cooperation in the joint Task Force established in August, which he is co-chairing.

The discussion partners also agreed on the necessity of adapting our operations to climate change and the importance of implementing the green transition in the EU. They exchanged views and expectations for the upcoming COP28 summit in Dubai.
