Internal borders control extended until 19 November 2023
The Slovenian government has issued the Ordinance amending the Ordinance on temporary reintroduction of controls at the internal borders with Croatia and Hungary. The new ordinance is published in the Official Gazette and enters into force the day after the publication.
The temporary controls at the internal borders were introduced as a security measure in the face of terrorist threat. The modalities and intensity of temporary controls at the internal borders will be applied according to the principle of proportionality and will continue to focus on prevention of terrorism, extremism and cross-border crime. The measures will be adjusted accordingly to ensure a minimum disruptive effect on cross-border traffic, the environment, and the economy, especially for the local residents.
