Golob and Milatović assessed their relations as excellent, close and friendly, and expressed commitment to strengthening them further. The Slovenian Prime Minister voiced his expectations for good cooperation with the new Montenegro’s government. He recalled that Slovenia strongly supports Montenegro's accession to the EU, just as it supported the country joining NATO in 2017.

President Milatović added that Montenegro is the most successful of the EU candidate countries and would like to see its voice in Brussels strengthened with Slovenia's help.
