EU funding for reducing flood risk
The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for two projects that will reduce flood risk along the Dravinja River and the Polskava River and in the Drava River basin – the Ptuj area of the Drava River.
Under the EU-funded project Reducing flood risk in the Drava basin – the Ptuj area of the Drava River, the Slovenian Water Agency will implement measures to help reduce flood risk in four areas of significant flood impact: Maribor-Radvanje, Spodnji Duplek, Ptuj-Centre and Ptuj-Rogoznica. The European Regional Development Fund contribution for the project, which is worth EUR 34,747,039.68, stands at over EUR 28.5 million, i.e., EUR 28,599,983.73.
The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has also issued a grant decision for the project Reducing flood risk along the Dravinja and the Polskava River. The European Regional Development Fund contribution for the project, which is worth EUR 17,127,113.92, stands at just over EUR 14 million, i.e., EUR 14,090,546.83. With the help of the approved EU funding, the Slovenian Water Agency will implement measures to reduce flood risk in the area of significant flood impact in Poljčane, namely in the municipalities of Slovenske Konjice, Videm, Kidričevo, Majšperk and Slovenska Bistrica.
