Mateja Čalušić takes the reins of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food
The National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia has appointed Mateja Čalušić as the new Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food on the proposal of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia Dr Robert Golob. Minister Čalušić has taken over from Minister of Defence Marjan Šarec who was temporarily put in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food on 13 October 2023.
New Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Mateja Čalušić expressed gratitude to Minister Marjan Šarec for temporarily overseeing this complex portfolio. "I will do my utmost to carry out my duties to the best of my abilities."
While handing over the official business, Minister Šarec wished the new Minister every success in her term in office and the achievement of all priorities. "I offer you my sincere congratulations on your appointment. I am symbolically handing you over the Ministry by giving you a folder full of files. It shows the wide scope of issues that we tackled and I am happy to hand it over to you."
Marjan Šarec took over as Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food from Irena Šinko on 13 October 2023.
