As part of the project, the National Council of Disability Organisations of Slovenia and the project partner Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia will carry out a nationwide awareness-raising campaign on social inclusion of people with disabilities. The campaign aims to enhance social responsibility and acceptance of different social groups, particularly people with disabilities. Special attention will be paid to the status of women and children with disabilities, as well as to the rights to accessibility, equality before the law, protection of personal integrity, independent living and community inclusion, respect for privacy, education, health, training and rehabilitation, work and employment, an adequate standard of living and social security, and participation in political and public life. 

The EU-funded project also aims to improve the accessibility of goods and services for people with disabilities by carrying out an accessibility analysis of facilities, services and information, expanding the network of providers and increasing the number of disability card holders.

The project Nationwide awareness-raising campaign on social inclusion of people with disabilities is implemented in the framework of Slovenia’s Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, under the priority Long-term care and health, and social inclusion. The project pursues the specific objective Enhancing equal and timely access to quality, sustainable and affordable services, including services that promote the access to housing and person-centred care including healthcare; modernising social protection systems, including promoting access to social protection, with a particular focus on children and disadvantaged groups; improving accessibility including for persons with disabilities, effectiveness and resilience of healthcare systems and long-term care services.

The project worth 600,000 euros will receive half a million euros of European Social Fund Plus support, more specifically 510,000 euros.
