Dear Citizens,

Today marks cultural creativity and the great significance of culture for our history. We celebrate the outstanding artists who have left an indelible mark on Slovenian culture and art over the centuries, while focusing on the artists who are creating in the contemporary world and thus co-shaping our nation's future.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate this year's Prešeren Award and Prešeren Fund laureates.

Respect for cultural creativity is key to the formation of national consciousness. We are what we are because of the richness of our culture and historical heritage.
