Slovenia lights up 20 years of EU Membership at BRIGHT Festival in Brussels from 15-18 February 2024
Slovenia presents the work of Luka Savić titled "On Earth as it is in Heaven" in Cinquantenaire Park. The project was inspired by the artist and ecologist Marko Pogačnik. The motif of clasped hands signifies the crossing of boundaries between the visible and invisible, material and spiritual. It can also be understood as an act of harmony, a meaningful gesture that unites Europe.
About the author
Luka Savić graduated in visual arts and philosophy. His works have been exhibited throughout Europe, from Vienna, Skopje, Vilnius, Bologna to Ljubljana. Since 2017, he has been collaborating with the David Gothard Studio Archive, operating between Ljubljana, London, and Gorizia.
About the festival
The BRIGHT festival will illuminate two of Brussels' main neighbourhoods, the Royal and European quarters, over four evenings. From February 15 to 18, 2024, approximately thirty poetic works by artists from around the world will reveal new dimensions of the European capital. This year's event primarily sheds light on Europe and its values, in conjunction with the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
