22 March, World Water Day
The central theme of this year's World Water Day is Water for Peace. The emphasis is on water being not only a resource people use, but also a human right that is inseparable from all aspects of life. Water is absolutely necessary for life and is needed in many activities.
Although Slovenia is a country rich in water, we are very aware of the importance of keeping it clean and accessible to all. That is why in 2016 Slovenia became one of the few countries where the right to drinking water is enshrined in the Constitution.
On today's World Water Day, some interesting statistics have been gathered at the Statistical Office.
