The Prime Minister also discussed the EDF Manifesto with the representatives, which was adopted by the delegates in view of the upcoming European elections with the aim of improving the societal situation of people with disabilities. He explained to the international guests that the representatives of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the representatives of the NSIOS are working very well together in the focus group, which operates under the auspices of the Slovenian Government. This was also underlined at the meeting with the Prime Minister in March this year by the NSIOS President, Mateja Toman, who took the opportunity to invite Prime Minister Golob to a meeting with the EDF representatives.

Mateja Toman stressed that disability organisations make an important contribution to people with disabilities exercising their rights, and that she appreciates how the Prime Minister recognised this role by establishing a focus group in 2022. The focus group is a place of regular cooperation between the Slovenian Government and the NSIOS.

The President of the European Disability Forum, Yannis Vardakastanis, said that Slovenia has made an important contribution to improving the situation of people with disabilities in the EU. He highlighted Slovenia's role in the "European Disability Card" project as an example of good practice.

The participants also discussed the rights of people with disabilities in transport and passenger rights, as well as employment and independent living of people with disabilities.
