Among the future challenges facing the Court of Justice of the European Union, Maja Brkan highlighted the partial transfer of preliminary ruling powers from the Court of Justice to the General Court, as well as the intensive work on the digital transformation, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

The Annual Report provides an insight into the developments, organisation and work of the Court of Justice of the European Union, including notable judicial decisions from the past year. All this is accompanied by a clear recognition of the institution's mission and the Union's shared values of democracy, the rule of law, fundamental rights and respect for minorities.
