Prime Minister Golob: Climate change is global and affects us all
The conference was aimed at discussing the importance of reducing the carbon footprint of the Slovenian healthcare system among key stakeholders. It provides a basis for a continuous dialogue and designing measures for green healthcare.
In his address, Prime Minister Golob said that "climate change is all-encompassing and touches every one of us. It is a threat to human civilisation and future generations. It is crucial that we take a decisive step towards a green transition, never backing down, and acting prudently with perseverance".
The Prime Minister highlighted eating habits as an important aspect of the green transition. "Eating habits are the contact point between healthcare and climate change. Offering greener products is as important as knowing that our habits need to change," he stressed.
In closing, he welcomed the initiative for today's conference. "The purpose of today's consultation is to share information and experiences and to raise awareness of the carbon footprint in healthcare. This is the only way that we can take the path of change," concluded Prime Minister Robert Golob.
