The project will aim to increase the proportion of physically active adults in Slovenia by enabling them to participate in professionally guided sport and exercise programmes.

As part of the project, a wide network of providers of quality, supervised and professionally guided sport and exercise programmes as well as prevention programmes will be established to enhance health and increase physical activity at local levels with a focus on increasing engagement in exercise among adults that are physically inactive according to WHO guidelines. These individuals will be able to participate in the selected sport and exercise programme for free.

The network of providers will include the sport and exercise programmes that will comply with the relevant quality standards which will be designed as part of the project by a special expert committee. The network of providers of sport and exercise programmes will include sports associations, sports clubs and other sport programme providers in line with the Sports Act that will comply with the relevant quality standards. The beneficiary of the financial contribution is the Olympic Committee of Slovenia.

The project is worth a total of 4,411,765.13 euros; it will receive nearly 2.8 million euros, more specifically 2,797,059.10 euros, from the European Social Fund Plus.
