Prime Minister Golob welcomes the revival of social dialogue and the restoration of full functioning of the ESC

The social partners met again, after almost one year, at the session of the Economic and Social Council (ESC) with the aim of reviving the social dialogue and the constructive and continuous functioning of the ESC.

To this end, the Government, employers' organisations and employees' representatives signed the Declaration on the respect for and promotion of social dialogue and the Amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the Social and Economic Council. The two documents are a result of joint efforts on the part of all parties involved and reflect their commitment to cooperation and to the search for common solutions for economic and social challenges in the country.

Prime Minister Robert Golob welcomed the revival of social dialogue and the restoration of the full functioning of the ECS. The ECS facilitates the coordination of stakeholders' interests through constructive dialogue and strengthens social justice.

The main function of the ESC will be to continue the dialogue with the social partners. At today's 352nd session, the attendees discussed healthcare, amendments to tax legislation, and the Labour and Social Security Registers Act.
