EU funding for lifelong learning

The Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Strengthening lifelong learning.

As part of the EU co-funded project, the Slovenian Institute for Lifelong Learning will implement activities within four thematic areas: developing adult literacy and basic competences, assessing and developing quality with a focus on digitalisation, strengthening adult education guidance and counselling, developing green competences and adapting to green transition. The project's target group are adults, with a special emphasis on vulnerable target groups such as those older than 45, the less educated and less qualified, etc. The Institute will thus promote high-quality lifelong learning, strengthen competences and enhance the qualifications of adult educators. By developing new tools and materials, the Institute will also strengthen its advisory activities.            

The project Strengthening lifelong learning will be implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027, priority Skills and responsive labour market, specific objective Promoting lifelong learning, in particular flexible upskilling and reskilling opportunities for all taking into account entrepreneurial and digital skills, better anticipating change and new skills requirements based on labour market needs, facilitating career transitions and promoting professional mobility.

The project worth five million euros will receive a European Social Fund Plus contribution of 3.35 million euros.
